Tip 114 Go Green, Live Rich

There are seven aspects to my personal success wheel: health & wellness, spirituality, job & career, intellectual & cultural pursuits, finances, deep relationships and, very importantly, giving back.

That’s why I’m so pleased to share that financial guru David Bach is making a major contribution to the earth – and encouraging you to do the same – with his new book Go Green, Live Rich: 50 Simple Ways to Save the Earth (and Get Rich Trying). It is his passion project. His personal transformation to environmentalist began when he moved into a “green building.” He stopped needing prescription drugs for his allergies, his son’s asthma disappeared and they both slept better. He started educating himself on the environment and felt compelled to write this book.

Here’s an insightful business tip from the “Go Green At Work” chapter:

“By telecommuting just two days per week, over the course of a year an employee will drive 3,000 fewer miles, save approximately $430 in gas and eliminate 3,120 pounds of CO2 emissions. The benefits to an employee include more flexibility, commuting money saved, less stress and overall increased satisfaction in his or her job. Employers can reduce office space, have less furniture, reduce operating expenses, and benefit from lower employee absenteeism, lower turnover and increased employee productivity.”

The book is in stores April 8th, but you will get over $2,000 in free bonuses when you buy the book online at www.greengreen.com between April 1st and 11th. For each and every copy purchased online through his special offer, David will donate $1 to Waterkeeper Alliance, an organization dedicated to preserving and protecting our waterways from pollution. So, 100,000 books purchased = $100,000 donated to keep our water clean! Plus for each of the first 1,000 books sold, a tree will be planted by Gaiam to help fight climate change.

Keith -
I'm a big fan of your book. A lot of great information. But I've noticed that you primarily use your blog to shill books/products for other people. There's virtually no association with the original content.
If you're going to continue to use this blog for sales purposes, why not re-name it?

Nowadays, almost everything we exposed to is wired with business agenda. As long as it's for betterment of the world, so what it's a bit commercialized... Keith, thanks for sharing!

I want to thank you for your synergistic referrals of books, messages, and ideas.

Every time I receive an email from Keith Ferrazzi I read it. It may not be applicable at that moment, yet it very well could in the future.

Thank you for continually sending great references and resources.

Telecommuting saves lots of money for me. After dropping my son off at daycare, I come home and get to work - no long commutes. Saving on gas is great. Also, there are other savings, like saving on paper products you dispose when you have lunch out.

If you can help the environment in anyway, let's do it!

Savor life's best,
Aimee

The position I have now is the second telecommuting position I have held. Working remotely suits me, my family, and benefits the company. I get to work in the region I serve (southeast) for a company located in the northwest. I have been surprised that the news media has not featured companies with telecommuting policies/practices as a way to help control costs, go green, or simply add the benefit for the sake of the employee.

I first saw David Bach speak at the Joe Polish Piranha SuperConference and instantly became a raving fan of his work. David really cares about people and the world we live in.

As the Best Carpet Cleaner in El Paso, Texas I totally subscribe to David's philosophies. We must all do everything we can to preserve our environment for our children and future generations to come.

I always enjoy your posts, Keith. This one especially resonated with me because not only is this a cause near and dear to my own heart, but also because I am a Virtual Assistant, an administrative expert who works with clients virtually. The very foundation of our profession and industry is based on "green" working and gives business owners an alternative to working with inhouse employees who must commute to work.

For those who are interested in learning more about Virtual Assistant industry and the green alternative solutions it provides business owners with, we have an entire Client Guide written just for you: http://www.virtualassistantnetworking.com/client-guide.htm
